Michael MacDonald’s life is a busy one, but he wouldn’t swap it for quids!
The new face at the Woombye Community Bank branch is a married father of four young children, so there’s never a dull moment in his household. With a background as a Combat Engineer in the Australian Defence Force, Michael has recently made a career change to banking and isn’t looking back.
“I’ve always had a passion for working for a community minded company and I’m loving being in Woombye. Having worked in a variety of fields and I’m excited about the opportunities this will allow me to engage with the locals. I’ve always been involved in sport, but due to getting old and lots of army pack marches I now limit myself to indoor cricket and the occasional game of tennis. I also love romantic comedies - everyone does, but not everyone admits it,” Michael shared with a smile.
“I feel extremely lucky to be a part of the Woombye Community Bank branch and working with the team. Hayley, Mark and Leanne have been really welcoming and I’ve really enjoying getting to know our customers. It’s also been great seeing difference Bendigo Bank makes on the coast and in the Sunshine Valley through all our community sponsorships and involvement,” he added.
Woombye Community Bank branch manager, Hayley Saunders said Michael has already been a wonderful addition to the team.
“We’re excited to add Michael as another vibrant team member to our branch. He has a great approach to life and a real sense of humour, which is a lot of fun for everyone. He’s enjoying learning more about our Community Banking model and the fact that the more our community supports us, the more we can give back. It’s that simple,” Hayley said.
Locals are invited to visit the Woombye Community Bank branch and meet with Michael and the rest of the team to talk about all their banking needs. It’s located at 33 Blackall Street and is open 9.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday. You can also call the branch directly on 5442 1311.
