Crazy ties and trivia await Dads at Woombye State School

Father’s Day is fast approaching and we all know they love taking full advantage of being
celebrated on the first Sunday in September.
The students at Woombye State School are planning to celebrate that idea by making a big deal of all fathers and grandfathers. The school is hosting a Crazy Ties and Trivia Night on Friday, September 1, which promises to be a lot of fun.
Taking place in the school hall, students will be able to share the fun they’ve been having transforming boring old ties into amazing artistic creations for their Dads to wear on the night for the crazy tie competition.
The trivia games and wacky challenges centred on a smorgasbord of delicious desserts all designed to honour the fathers and grandfathers in the school community. A huge array of desserts will keep the energy levels high and a number of local businesses have pitched in to
donate prizes.
One is the Woombye Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank, and manager Hayley Saunders was on hand this week to donate some savings accounts to Chappy, Anne Wells for the occasion.
Anne said it’s great to see the support our local community provides for this special day of the year.
“We couldn’t do this without some wonderful volunteers and those who sponsor all the fun, so
a big thank you to them all. It’s great to see lots of dads having fun, talking together, enjoying their children’s company and being encouraged in their incredibly important role in our families,” Anne said.
