Last week saw the official opening of the new and very impressive electronic sign in front of
Woombye State School.
The launch was also an opportunity to thank the supporter who helped fund the project – the Woombye Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank Principal, Paul Lowik invited branch manager, Hayley Saunders to celebrate the moment with a few young helpers and Bendigo Bank’s mascot and frequent visitor to the school, Piggy.
He said the iconic school had been planning for some time to have a sign in front of the school.
“It’s a striking end result that allows us to communicate with our school community and our wider community more effectively. Finding financial support from a long-time sponsors of our school meant the process could be sped up considerably and we’re so grateful to Bendigo Bank,” Mr. Lowik added.
Hayley said it’s another way the branch has found to support the school.
“The new sign is the latest in a number of ways our Woombye branch has supported Woombye State School. New musical instruments, welcome mats, support for the Sunshine Fair, Family Fun Day, goal post pads, the You Can Do It program and now the new sign, all add up a pretty close relationship and one we’re proud to continue,” Mrs. Saunders said.
“It’s all possible because our community chooses to bank with us and the more that happens, the more we can give back to great projects like these at Woombye State School and throughout the Sunshine Valley,” she added.
