Woombye State School leaders showing the way

It’s been said that leadership is empowering young people to see themselves as change-
makers. Even at a young age, it’s important to recognise this in our future leaders.
Keen to share their select few with our community, Woombye State School has unveiled
its leadership group for 2018. It’s a fine array of Year 6 students who are already putting
their best efforts forward at the historic school.
Last week, one of the school’s major sponsors was on hand celebrate the group and wish
them well.
School principal, Paul Lowik said working for the benefit of others in our community is one
of the skills of a leader.
“Woombye State School is very fortunate to have some great supporters over the years.
One of those is the Woombye Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank and we’re
delighted they will be with us again in 2018. We thank them and Hayley Saunders for all
they do in and for our school,” Mr. Lowik said.
Mr. Lowik said the leadership has been given a great opportunity this year.
“Our leaders’ time in their positions will be of great benefit this year and give each of them
skills and provide perspective benefiting them for years to come,” he added.
“They will work throughout the year on various projects revolving around school
improvement and making our school a great place for kids, as well as charitable
endeavours to support charities within our community and our region. We are fortunate to
have sponsorship from Bendigo Bank for many of those projects, including our annual
Family Fun Day.
“We’re very proud of this group of enthusiastic young people. It’s going to be a great year
ahead," Mr. Lowik concluded.
